I will only be in Uppsala for a few hours, is there anything to do in such a short time?
Why not take a walk on your own through the city? Start at the Cathedral, continue to the Gustavianum Museum, University Hall, the university library (Carolina Rediviva), Uppsala Castle, and the botanical garden. Maybe you would even have time for the Linnaeus Garden (in the city proper) and the 6th century royal mounds in Gamla (Old) Uppsala (just north of the city).

How do I get to Gamla (Old) Uppsala?
Old Uppsala to the north of Uppsala can be reached by buses. They leave from the centre of Uppsala - ask the bus driver to make sure you´re taking it in the right direction. If you are going by car, take Vattholmavägen to the north about four kilometers and turn left at a parking area called Groaplan.

Where do I find the Tourist Information Office in Uppsala?
The Tourist Information Office is in central Uppsala, at Fyristorg 8, on the western side of the Fyrisån River, between St. Eriks torg square and Drottninggatan, two blocks southwest of the square in the center of town called Stora Torget.

What kind of shopping is available in Uppsala? What hours are the stores open?
Central Uppsala is full of stores and shops. In the area surrounding the city, too, there are department stores and shopping malls. If it is not a holiday, most stores in the city are open weekdays from 10am to 7pm, Saturdays from 10am to 5pm, and Sundays from 12noon to 4pm.
