During the summer of 2010, there will be bicycles available for rent/hire in central Uppsala. The bikes can be rented for up to 8 hours and are available from one specially marked place, at the square called Fyristorg. Go to one of these bike stands to check that a bicycle is free. If you have a Swedish mobile phone account you can book the bike by text message. SMS rental is available daily 6 am-midnight. The bicycles are equipped with cable locks with a combination code. You will receive the code via text when the booking is completed. A bicycle helmet is included. If you do not have a mobile/cell phone, or a Swedish mobile phone account, you can rent a bike by visiting the Tourist Information Office at Fyristorg. The bicycles cannot be booked in advance.
Price/admission incl. VAT (when required): SEK 80 for eight hours. The loan can be extended for four hours (once) for an additional SEK 20. Club members of Upplands Lokaltrafik and holders of the Uppsala Card enjoy a discount, eight hours for SEK 50.
Open: June 1-Sept 30. The Tourist Information Office, Mon-Fri 10 am-6pm, Sat 10am-3pm, July 4-August 29 also Sun 11am-3pm.
