In the Botanical Garden, you will find greenery and flowering plants year round. In the Tropical Greenhouse, Uppsala's only rainforest, there are bananas, coffee, and orchids, as well as plants from the desert and other arid areas. The Orangery holds cactuses, Linnaeus's laurel, figs and olive trees. During spring, summer and autumn, colorful summer flowers, rare mountain plants, trees, bushes and appetite-whetting kitchen plants from around the world beckon the visitor to come in and have a stroll. Welcome to Uppsala University's botanical garden, where research, education and preservation of biological diversity go hand in hand with beauty, recreation and learning. Conference facilitiesThe Orangery and the Linnaeus Room can be rented for weddings and other festivities from mid-May to mid-September. Parts of the botanical garden can also be used in connection with conferences. Book via Cajsas kök phone +46 (0)18-130 190, info@cajsas-kok.se.
Open: May 1–June 11 and Sep 13–Sep 30 garden daily 7am–9pm, Tropical Greenhouse Tues–Fri 9am–3pm, Sat–Sun 12noon–3pm, Orangery weekdays 9am–3pm. June 12–Sep 12 garden daily 7am–9pm, Tropical Greenhouse and Orangery open Tues–Fri 11am–5pm, Sat–Sun 11am–4pm. Oct–April garden daily 7am–7pm, Tropical Greenhouse Tues–Fri 9am–3pm, Sun 12noon–3pm, Orangery weekdays 9am–2pm. Gates at Dag Hammarskjölds väg closed during winter. Entrances at Villavägen, Thunbergsvägen or Norbyvägen.
Guided tours: Tropical Greenhouse first Sun of the month at 1pm in Swedish. The garden Saturdays June–Aug 2pm in Swedish and 3pm in English (except June 26). Groups welcome to book tours through bokning@botan.uu.se.
